STUDY DESCRIPTON
The purpose of this research study is to: test the safety and tolerability of the study drug LB54640 at increasing doses, to see how your body breaks down the study drug and removes it from the body, and to see how the study drug affects body composition, blood sugar, body weight, cholesterol, triglycerides, mood, food intake, and appetite.
Participation in this study will last approximately 41 days plus up to 30 days for screening. The screening procedures may be done at a single visit or more than one visit. You will: stay in-house at the study site for 7 days in a row, return for an outpatient visit on Day 14 and Day 21, stay in-house at the study site for 7 days in a row, then return for a final follow-up visit about 8 days after you complete the second in-house stay.
- Male or Female:
- Between the ages of 18 and 70
- BMI of 27 or higher
- HbA1c lower than 6.5%
- Daily use of no more than 10 cigarettes/day, or 2 cigars/day, or equivalent use of any tobacco product within 6 weeks prior to Screening and able to refrain from smoking during the study is permitted
Study Participants may receive:
- Compensation of up to $3,925 if all visits are complete
