Learn about the effects of a study drug for participants with NASH

The purpose of this research is to determine whether an investigational drug (a drug that has not been approved by the Food and Drug Administration [FDA] for use outside of research studies) known as MET642 is safe and effective in the treatment for NASH.

The purpose of this study is to learn about the effects of a study drug, MET642, to find the best dose for treating NASH, and to see how safe the MET642 is for participants with NASH. In this study, MET642 will be compared to placebo.

You may qualify if:

  • You are 18-75 years old

Possible Treatment for Non-alcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH)

The purpose of the study is to determine how safe and effective this study medication is when administered orally by tablet once daily for 84 days (12 weeks). We will also be evaluating the safety and effectiveness of the study medication when taken with empagliflozin (Jardience) in some participants. Jardience is an FDA approved drug used to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes.

The study medication is being evaluated for a possible treatment for Non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). NASH is a key cause of chronic liver disease and liver-related medical conditions. Many are not aware that they have NASH although diagnosis can be done through laboratory testing and procedures.

You may qualify if:

  • You are 18-75 years old
  • You have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes

Measure Target Gene Expression in The Liver

This is a multisite study to qualify narrow gauge CNB as an effective method for measuring target gene expression in the liver through sample collection and analysis. The study does not involve administration of any investigational drug product.

You may qualify if:

  • You are 18-75 years old
  • You have a documented history of NASH or clinical suspicion of NASH

Study how well the Dexcom® Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) System works and how it affects your daily activities

The purpose of this study is to see how well the investigational Dexcom CGM System works, and how safe it is during activities of daily living when worn for up to 10.5 days. The System may be tested both while you are at home and when you are in the clinic. While at home and at the clinic, the Sensor will store your sugar readings in the transmitter.

To take part in this study:
• You must be 18 years of age or older
• You must be diagnosed with type 1 or type 2 diabetes mellitus
